projects
By Caspar has a long track record of highly satisfied customers. Principal architect Caspar Grauballe has personally overseen projects at more than 60 different clubs in more than 15 countries – from Scandinavia and across continental Europe, to the UK & Ireland and beyond, including North America, Asia and Australia. While working with Martin Hawtree he completed projects at some of the best-known clubs in the world, such as Royal Birkdale in the UK, Ballybunion in Ireland and Royal Melbourne in Australia. Upon establishing By Caspar, projects have ranged from practice facilities, to feature redesign, full renovations and entirely new golf courses. Below is a small selection of these projects.
For the first golf course to be built near the city of Poznań in northeast Poland, By Caspar took inspiration from classic links layouts, with a modern twist.
Golf de Rougemont-le-Château in eastern France, close to the borders of Germany and Switzerland, is a Robert Berthet design that opened in the late 80s.
Opened in 1993 as a 18-hole design by Martin Hawtree, Simon’s Golf Club was extended to 27 holes in 2007, when Caspar Grauballe, as the lead architect for Hawtree, created a new C loop.
Zuid Limburgse, in the far south-east of the Netherlands, has nine holes that were originally designed by Martin Hawtree’s father Fred in the 1960s, and nine more were added by Belgian architect Paul Rolin in the 1980s.
Trump International Golf Links in Scotland is one of the most highly regarded new golf courses built in recent times. It is a Martin Hawtree design, with Caspar Grauballe as lead designer.
